BY THE CORNERSTONE WAY

THE VISION
The Cornerstone Way is dedicated to meeting the needs of our communities through positive social engagement in key critical areas that include: Homelessness, Poverty, Gun Violence, Health & Wellness, Education and Veteran Programs. Serving our local community is an honor an privilege to the volunteers of our organization and the unparalleled partnerships with so many organizations in our local community makes for an even sweeter reward. We don't believe in competing with our brothers and sisters who serve, but find innovative and strategic ways to compliment each other as there is so much work to be done.
THE HARD TRUTH
50,000 HOMELESS ARE VETERANS ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT
1 OUT OF 5 PEOPLE IN LINE AT A SOUP KITCHEN ARE CHILDREN
50% OF ALL HOMELESS ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN
The federal poverty level is $22,050 for a family of four. This equates to 21% of all children (15 million children) total. 50% of our children are living in poverty. Half of those kids receive no government assistance because their parents earned more than $22,050 that year. Studies show poverty impedes learning and contributes to social and behavioral problems as well. The Cornerstone Way through our assistance has helped to alleviates violence in schools with fewer kids being teased. Working with great partners to feed children and spark conversation and roundtables that send a powerful message that we care and we take care of home first.
